Sam's First Road trip

Well we packed up the family (except for Inga the cat...) and headed to Amherst on Thursday evening. Sam and Hunter both travelled SO well! We made one stop each direction of the three hour trip and they both slept most of the way despite Mama's fears. Daddy dropped of Mom and Sam and headed over to Algoma (Lake Michigan) with Hunter. Sam did very well and Grandma and Grandpa Bacon's and got to meet lots of family! Mama didn't remember to take pictures of all of them, but here are some. Daddy sounds like Hunter had just as much fun in Algoma- he went swimming and onto the boat for the first time and seemed to enjoy it. They're both quite tired today, so we're having a quiet Monday. Oh- Sam did have his first trip to the barn with Mama in the front pack- will have pictures next time...Also met Great Grandpa Bacon and Great Uncles Roger and John- will get pictures from Grandma- but forgot to get pictures with Great Aunt Linda and "Auntie" Steph...sorry!!! Next time!

A First...

Sam had his first bottle feeding from dad- and they both did so well! Sam took the bottle like a champ- which is good because I'll be going back to work September 5th, so he'll have to get used to it! And Dad was awfully excited to be able to feed him! Seems like he gets bigger every day! Attached are some pictures of visitors; Sally's social work friends Kaira and Liz, and a visit from Scott's Aunt Ruth.

One month old today!

Big day for Sam! He's one month old- and had his first trip to church. He had a cute little outfit on for church, and I would have taken a picture...but he found a way to pee through the side of the diaper right onto mommy's leg a few minutes into the service... :) We weighed our little guy and according to daddy's fish scale he weighs 9.7 pounds! And according to my measurements with Great Grandma Bacon's measuring tape he's 20 1/2 inches long, so it's not our imagination, he IS getting bigger!

Uncle Eric's visit

Uncle Eric came to visit Sam along with Grandma Diane and Grandpa Roger- they also brought us some different living room furniture- quite comfy! I swear Sam is getting bigger by the minute- he's finally out of newborn diapers (mostly because we had some size one's and didn't want to buy any more newborn...) We're getting excited for our first road trip with Sam and Hunter- we're heading East next weekend (Sally and Sam will stay at Sally's folks and Hunter and Scott will head over to Algoma). Wish us luck!

Auntie Mara's Visit

Sam's Auntie Mara came to stay with us for a couple of days and get in some Hugs-n-Snugs before she and her husband move to Missouri and she starts Med School (she can be his personal pediatrician!). We had to have a little fun with him while she was here, and we had a wonderful time!

Almost three weeks!!!

It is so hard to believe we've had this little guy for nearly three weeks! We're getting settled in pretty well- he's let me have a couple three hour stretches in the night the last few nights, and that really helps! I would post pictures of Sam's visit to my (Sally's) work from yesterday, but...I brought the camera and the memory card was still in the computer at home...so next time! He was a big hit with the folks at work- they tried to tell me I could come back to work tomorrow and bring him with me! I don't think so! Here are some more recent pictures- he's getting to be so expressive and spending more and more of his time awake and taking in the world. My sister Mara will be coming late tonight to stay a couple of days with us, so I'm sure there will be more pictures soon! And I had to include the picture Scott captured of Hunter doing his "let-me-in" face on the patio door... Love to all- S S & s
